1850 Census - Alabama lists Winfrey and his family (3 children: Carrol - age 7, Giles age 5 and James age 2)

1860 Census of Cooke County, Texas - listed Winfrey LIvingston and his family (2 additional children: Ann age 9 and Adolphus age 4)

Winfrey Livingston enlisted May 15, 1861 in Cooke County, Texas, as 4th Sergeant in the original State Service Organization. He was 39 years old at the time. Winfrey is shown as a Sergeant (no number given) on first Confederate muster roll. He was discharged and paid on March 26, 1862 by T. W. Randolph. No Discharge Certificate is on file. Following the Civil War Winfrey settled in the part of Hamilton County which is now in Mills County. Winfrey who served in the CSA from Cooke County, Texas, was buried at Center City. (Charlene Livingston Rose)

1870 Census of Comanche County, Texas (probably an area that is now in Mills County) listed Winfrey Livingston and family

Montrale Post Office opened October 2, 1877, with Winfrey Livingston as the postmaster. This post office closed October 18, 1879.

Winfrey was the first Mills County survey (elected) and had been re-elected in 1898 prior to his death in 1901.
